Born and raised on the tobacco roads of North Carolina. Ricky Farmer learned his craft at the apron strings of his mother Bessie. She was renown for her barbecue chicken but most every cut and type of meat she cooked had the smokiness of being grilled on the barbecue.
At an early age, Ricky realized that he needed a life beyond the back woods of North Carolina and so he moved out of the house, met his wife Ebernee and then served our country for 20 years. But the passion and experience learned from his mom never left him. Being from North Carolina, Ricky was accustomed to a tangy vinegar-based sauce. Ebernee helped him experiment with the sweeter molasses-based sauces of Memphis and added the spiced rub of Texas.
One day fooling around in the kitchen, Ebernee created a sauce that seemed to offer the best of all regions. Ricky added some finishing touches and today it is called Meat Stall Frosting. And you can buy it right here online.
